Make Nigeria safer, secured — PMB charges NDC course 29 graduands

The Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that government is focused on taking the country out of insecurity ravaging parts of the Country.

President Buhari who was represented as Special Guest by the Minister of Defence, Maj Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi (retd) stated this in a message to the National Defence College Course 29 graduation ceremony held at the College, Abuja.

He charged the ninety six graduands to deploy the eleven months values of knowledge, skills and aptitudes acquired in the College towards improving the overall service delivery in the defence of the National Security to make the country safer and secured.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces therefore renewed his unshaken faith in the nation and vouched for the strong political will of the government to take the country to greater heights by leveraging technological innovations.

These he said are evident in the profound changes in the National democratic space and policy environment.

The President seized the opportunity of the event to take stock of the last years achievements of his administration.

These include, the ongoing fight against corruption, diversification of the economy, reforms in the oil and gas sector, implementation of social investment programmes, agriculture and agro- allied processing using technological imputs.

The Commandant of the National Defence College, Rear Admiral Oladele Bamidele Daji who had earlier confered the prestigious award of Fellow of the NDC on the graduands appealed for Presidential Intervention for the speedy completion of the projects at the Permanent site of the college at Piwoyi Abuja.

Rear Admiral Daji said the completion and relocation of the college to its permanent site will be the icing on the cake of the thirty years anniversary next year since the establishment of the institution.

The climax of the ceremony was the presentations of Certificates and awards to the graduands by the representative of the Special guest of honour who was also led by the Commandant to undertake a tour of the college museum.
