NITDA Charts Course for Nigeria’s Digital Growth

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has reaffirmed its dedication to elevating Nigeria’s status in the global digital economy.
At the 3rd TeXcellence Conference, themed “Revealing Tomorrow,” NITDA Director General Kashifu Inuwa CCIE outlined the agency’s strategic efforts and digital roadmap, emphasizing a collaborative approach to national digital growth.
Inuwa, represented by Dr. Aristotle Onumo, highlighted NITDA’s digital social contract with the community, structured around eight strategic pillars aimed at empowering Nigerians and fostering economic development.

“Our vision is to make Nigeria a digitally empowered nation, fostering inclusive economic growth through technological innovation,” he stated.
INCNews247 reports the agency’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP) 2.0, covering 2024-2027, focuses on transforming Nigeria’s digital landscape through clarity, collective responsibility, and challenging the status quo.
Inuwa stressed adapting to the evolving global digital landscape, addressing socio-economic disparities, and confronting cybersecurity challenges to establish Nigeria as a leader in digital literacy and tech talent.
NITDA’s strategy is grounded in legislative and policy frameworks, addressing socio-economic disparities, and confronting cybersecurity challenges.
The agency aims to enhance digital infrastructure development, digital literacy and skills, digital entrepreneurship, digital financial services, cybersecurity, digital governance, digital inclusion, and research and development.
Inuwa emphasized the importance of bridging digital gaps, gender imbalance, and accommodating people living with special needs as critical cornerstones in all the agency’s initiatives towards building inclusiveness.
He called for collaborations and partnerships to support six indigenous tech events, aiming to establish Nigeria as a leader in digital literacy and tech talent.
“Collaboration and partnership is a gateway to economic prosperity and a foundational element to maximize impact. Our leadership is resolute, strong, agile, and dynamic, and our strategy is creating digital value for the future through regulatory insight. I implore you all to join us to create a new digital future for Nigeria,” Inuwa concluded.
