During the screening session, chaired by Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, committee members expressed confidence in Prof. Usman’s capacity to lead NAHCON.

Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero moved the motion for confirmation, highlighting Prof. Usman’s distinguished academic background and leadership experience.

Prof. Usman pledged to engage stakeholders proactively and work collaboratively with the NAHCON team to fulfill the Commission’s mandate.

“I am honored by this trust and look forward to providing efficient and effective services to Nigerian pilgrims,” he stated.

A seasoned academic and administrator, Prof. Usman holds degrees from the University of Madina, Peshawar University, Pakistan, and Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

He previously chaired the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board and served in various academic and advisory capacities.

INCNews247 recalls that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had nominated Prof. Usman for the position, following the removal of the immediate past Chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi over misappropriation.

Prof. Usman’s appointment signals a new era of leadership at NAHCON, poised to bring renewed hope, innovation, stakeholder engagement, and operational efficiency to the Commission.

His track record of integrity and understanding of Hajj administration positions him to elevate the Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.
