Relief, Excitement as Senator Oloriegbe Organizes Medical Outreach in Ilorin

There was an atmosphere of relief and excitement at the Olufadi Health Centre in Ilorin as hundreds of residents and bordering communities benefited from a free medical outreach organized by Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, the Kwara Central Senator during the 9th National Assembly.
INCNews247 observes that approximately 400 individuals from various demographics gathered to receive complimentary medical consultations, medications, and additional health support services.
The outreach, part of the 2024 Capital Projects of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), focused on raising awareness, screening, and managing various types of cancer, including breast, cervical, and prostate cancers.

Dr. Oloriegbe was represented by his daughter, Barrister Hafsat Oloriegbe, who emphasized the significance of the outreach. “The motivation behind this program stems from the alarming rise in cancer cases within the community, underscoring the importance of early detection and preventive measures,” she said.
Hon. Abdulmajeed Bolakale Podo, Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Area, represented by his deputy, Mrs. Joel Mary Abiodun, praised the former legislator for his ongoing dedication to reforming the health sector.
“This initiative is a commendable effort to address the healthcare needs of our community,” he said.
Beneficiaries from various communities in Ilorin publicly expressed their gratitude to Dr. Oloriegbe for his unwavering commitment to addressing their needs despite his absence from public office.
The program was attended by notable figures, including the Alangua of Oke Ogun, Malam Abdulkadir Mahmud; Oke Ogun Ward Councillor, Hon. Hassan Kehinde; the representative of the NPHCDA, Funsho Katibi; the Head of the Department of Health for Ilorin South LGA, represented by Alh. Bolaji Aare; Chairman Oke Ogun Community Development Association, Alh. Adeshina Simple; and various party stakeholders.
