Tension in IBBUL Campus as Police Arrest 16 Suspected Cultists

There was palpable fear in Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai (IBBUL) as police command in Lapai arrested 16 suspected members of Black Axe cult group.
It was gathered that the suspected cultists were nabbed during their annual celebration in Gwaranyo Lodge in state low cost, Lapai.
Among the suspects are five students of IBBUL with one spill over student while eight others are students from other institutions in the State.
They were arrested in a rented apartment of one of IBBUL students by name Mikailu Yahaya. Mikailu just finished his final examination on 30th June, 2021 according to reports.
The paraded students of IBBUL are Joseph Biyama aged 22, Adewale Sunday aged 28, Ahmed Ahmed aged 23, Victor Dada aged 23, Kazeem Yahaya aged 26, and Emmanuel Ogbadu aged 24,
Others are Shittu Babatunde aged 23, Mikailu Yahaya aged 21, Abdullah Mohammed aged 26, Shekwolo Lamech aged 23, Damilolo Idris aged 20, Taiwo Hussaini aged 25, Haruna Lanre aged 24, Saheed Saheed aged 28, John Simeon aged 23 and Agbonika Ojoma aged 24.
Items recovered from the suspects are small axe, army trousers, army face cap, two bottles of Castello alcoholic drink, mps radio player including hard drugs suspected to be Indian hemp and fifteen liter concoction suspected to be illegal drugs.
Niger Police Spokesman, DSP Wasiu A. Abiodun, confirmed the incident while saying the case is under investigation, as suspects will be arraigned in court for prosecution as soon as investigation is concluded.
He, therefore, advised parents and guardians to always monitor their children activities both at home and school to avoid influence of peer group into unlawful association.
