The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) have commended the Federal Government’s decision to commit $538 million to the first phase of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) programme, describing it as a bold step towards revitalising Nigeria’s agricultural sector and ensuring food security.
In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group said the programme, which incorporates a youth-driven 10-year strategic action plan, has the potential to rejuvenate agriculture, create jobs and accelerate agro-industrialisation across the country.

“The SAPZ is a flagship initiative of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the sole aim of making food abundant and providing jobs for the teeming Nigerian youths. It will also boost agricultural productivity, improve rural livelihoods and accelerate agro-industrialisation,” the statement read.
The TMV described the initiative as “a well-thought-out programme” with food security and job creation at its core.
“There is no doubt that the Federal Government is using it to kill two birds – ensuring food security and engaging the youths more economically,” it added.
The group further noted that the SAPZ aligns with the United Nations’ global agenda to unlock finance and investment for accelerated food systems transformation and availability.
