Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralised two senior Boko Haram commanders and a few of their fighters in fresh clashes in Borno State, dealing another blow to the insurgent group’s leadership.
INCNews247 gathered that, the encounters, which took place between 21 and 22 August at Wulgo and Bitta in Gwoza Local Government Area, saw coordinated ground and air offensives repel a series of attacks launched by the terrorists.
The military confirmed the deaths of Abu Nazir, known as the Munzir of Juye, and Abu Fatima, Munzir of Koloram, alongside other fighters.

Recovered from the battlefront were AK-47 rifles, a cache of ammunition and six motorcycles belonging to the insurgents.
Abu Nazir and Abu Fatima were identified as mid-level field commanders, referred to by their titles Munzir — a designation for operational leaders in Boko Haram’s hierarchy.
The two oversaw terrorist cells in Juye and Koloram, notorious for staging ambushes on rural communities and disrupting farming activities around the Gwoza–Lake Chad axis.
Security sources say both commanders rose through the ranks under the faction that remained loyal to Boko Haram after its split from ISWAP, operating mainly around Mandara Mountains and border settlements.
Their roles involved coordinating raids, overseeing logistics such as stolen food supplies and motorcycles, and maintaining ideological discipline among foot soldiers.
