Troops Neutralise Five Terrorists, Rescue Hostages in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have neutralised five terrorists and rescued three abducted civilians during a coordinated military operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
INCNews247 learnt that, the operation, carried out in the early hours of Sunday, was executed by troops in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), following actionable intelligence on terrorist movements within the area.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the troops engaged the terrorists at a known crossing point along the Sojiri axis of Konduga.

He said the terrorists were decisively overpowered during the encounter, leading to the neutralisation of five of them without any casualty recorded on the side of the troops.
“The professionalism, precision and combat effectiveness displayed by our troops during the operation accounted for the successful outcome,” the statement said.
The military also rescued three civilians who had been kidnapped by the terrorists.
INCNews247 further gathered that arms and other items, including AK-47 rifles and sundry materials, were recovered from the scene.
Uba noted that the operation underscored the military’s sustained commitment to aggressive offensive actions against terrorist elements, while placing premium importance on the protection of civilians.
He added that the success of the mission further highlighted the value of collaboration between the military and local security stakeholders, particularly the CJTF, in degrading terrorist capabilities across the North-East.
The military assured that troops’ morale remains high and that security forces continue to dominate the operational environment despite evolving security challenges in the theatre.
