VP Shettima Inaugurates NARSAC
Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima is poised to inaugurate the National Road Safety Advisory Council (NARSAC), a crucial step towards achieving the United Nations Decade of Action on Road Safety 2021-2030.
INCNews247 reports that this move aims to reduce road traffic crashes by 50% by 2030.
During a meeting with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) management, led by Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, VP Shettima emphasized the need for a comprehensive solution to Nigeria’s road safety challenges.

He stressed the importance of leveraging technology and enforcing discipline to improve road safety.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed echoed NARSAC’s pivotal role in realizing the Nigeria Road Safety Strategy II document’s vision for 2021-2030.
It was learnt that the council will set national road safety targets, coordinate federal, state, and local government efforts, and oversee strategic plans.
NARSAC’s membership includes six governors representing the six geo-political zones, federal ministers, the National Security Adviser, and the President of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON).
