2023 WAEC: Governor AbdulRazaq Awards Best Student N1 Million

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has awarded a sum of N1m to Master Shalom Adesina for his outstanding and impressive performance at the 2023 West African Examination Council, WAEC (internal).
Master Adesina, a student of Rehoboth College, Pipeline, Ilorin, scored distinctions in all the subjects he sat for in the examination.
The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, presented the cash award yesterday, during a meeting held at the Ministry’s conference Hall, Ilorin.
Governor AbdulRazaq noted that the cash award was to encourage and support Master Adesina in his academic pursuit.

While praising teachers for their efforts in complementing government in their various places of assignments, the Governor maintained that the student had done the State proud and deserves to be motivated.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. John Olarewaju Bello, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his prompt action in releasing the award for the best student who made distinctions in all his nine subjects.
The Special Adviser on Education to the Governor, Dr. Adetola Ariyike Salau, commended the Governor for the cash award and urged the recipient to forge ahead in pursuit of his educational career, advising him to be a good ambassador of the State.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs. Olanrewaju Rebecca Bake, appreciated Governor AbdulRazaq for his quick intervention in revamping the education sector in Kwara State.
She also urged Master Adesina to embrace the loving hands extended to him by the Governor by being committed to his academic pursuit in order to attain greater heights.
The Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, Alhaji Salahu Salami, thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for his unflinching support and award to encourage the student for better performance in his academic pursuit.
In his remarks, the Principal, Rehoboth College, Mr. Sheidu Abdulmalik, expressed his gratitude to the Governor for the kind gesture and prayed for God’s guidance for the Governor in piloting the affairs of the State.
In their separate remarks, the recipient, Master Adeshina and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oluropo Adeshina, thanked the State government for the cash award, appealing to the present administration to continue in the same direction.
In another development, the State Government has inaugurated a Committee on Special Education in order to further strengthen and promote special education in the State.
While inaugurating the Committee at the Conference room of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development yesterday, the Commissioner, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, called on members of the Committee to justify the confidence reposed on them and bring to bear their wealth of experiences to strengthen special education in the State.
In her address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Olanrewaju Rebecca Bake, applauded the Governor for his efforts in making quality education accessible for all.
“I want to say that our Governor acknowledged that there is ability in disability. He has done this by giving disabled individuals a sense of belonging and befitting environment to learn.”
