100% Residents of Bayan Ruwa Are Bandits– GOC Declares

The General Officer Commanding of 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut has declared that every resident of Bayan Ruwa Community in Zamfara State is a bandit.
Mutkut made the disclosure during a courtesy call on him by the Defence Correspondents who were on media tour to the theatre of operations of Operation HADARIN DAJI in the Northwest.
INCNews247 reports that the declaration follows accusations against Nigerian Military of bombing innocent civilians in a recent sting operations in the area.

The General, who is also the Commander of Joint Taskforce of Operation HADARIN DAJI in Northwest confirmed that troops always employed thorough intelligence gathering before embarking on operations, hence no regret whatsoever for the bombardment in Bayan Ruwa.
According to him, “Although we always take precautionary measures to ensure minimal civilian casualties during operations but in Bayan Ruwa the case is not the same,” noted Mutkut.
“Everyone in Bayan Ruwa is a bandit. I am the one saying this. There is nobody in Bayan Ruwa that isn’t a bandit.
“We know them. Let anyone denying this come out. We will take them there. All of them are bandits. No exception.”
The GOC further revealed that the military is working with DSS, Police and local vigilantes among others to gather accurate intelligence on bandits locations before any attack, bombardment or airstrike.
Earlier, the team lead, Brigadier General Mohammed Dahiru Abumawashi, the Deputy Director Coordination of Media Operations acquainted the GOC on the purpose of the visit
“The tour was to have a true perspective on the operational activities of our troops and to avoid manipulation by the enemies of Nigeria portraying the country in a bad light.
“Also, to deepen the relationship between the military and the media by spearheading media access to enable direct interaction with the frontline formations and units, in order to have true pictures of things. “
