NAHCON Prioritizes Pilgrims’ Welfare for 2024 Hajj Season — Arabi

The Acting Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Ahmed Arabi, OON, fwc, said enhancing pilgrims’ welfare and services is a top priority for the Commission in the upcoming 2024 Hajj season.

Arabi emphasized the commitment during the reception of the Committee on Review of Accommodation and Feeding Guidelines’ report at the Board Room of the Hajj House on Wednesday.

He stressed the importance of delivering improved quality service as a fundamental task aligned with the Commission’s mandate, aiming to maintain the trust and confidence of both the people and pilgrims.

The NAHCON boss expressed gratitude for the dedication of the committee and anticipated that their recommendations would significantly contribute to enhancing progressive and practical approaches to their responsibilities.

In acknowledging the inevitability of change, Malam Arabi assured a collective review of the report before implementation, aiming for positive changes that would benefit the pilgrims.

He urged cooperation and support from State Pilgrims Welfare Boards/Agencies/Commission, expressing the need for synergy to implement recommendations aimed at simplifying processes and enhancing overall outcomes.

Dr. Aliyu Tanko, the Chairman of the Committee, expressed appreciation for the trust placed in them and highlighted the far-reaching recommendations aimed at streamlining Feeding and Accommodation arrangements by eliminating bottlenecks.

Recalling the Committee’s inception on December 5th, with a specific mandate, Dr. Tanko outlined the tasks accomplished, including the evaluation of current accommodation and catering guidelines, assessment of existing standards, identification of areas for improvement, and proposing a review of guidelines to ensure a comfortable and enriching experience for pilgrims.
