In preparation for the 2023 Hajj, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is exploring a potential partnership with the Indonesian Hajj Mission to bolster the Information Technology and financial support for improved service delivery during this year’s Hajj.

This was disclosed in a statement by Assistant Director of Information and Publications of NAHCON, Mousa Ubandawaki in Abuja on Wednesday.

Ubandawaki noted that Alh. Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, Chairman/CEO of NAHCON, who headed the delegation to the meeting, acknowledged that ICT and Hajj funding are integral to the success of any Hajj arrangement, and must be prioritized and reinforced.

“Given the health and safety of Nigerian Pilgrims, we have no choice but to seek out the world’s best in order to ensure better service delivery,” he said.

At the meeting on the sidelines of the 4 day Hajj and Umrah Expo, over 400 participants gathered to strengthen the ties between the two countries.

Alh Zikrullah said he hoped that the partnership between the two organizations would have a positive effect on the 2023 Hajj and improve the experience of Nigerian pilgrims.

Fadlul Imansyah, the leader of Badan Pengelola Keuangan Haji, BPKH, emphasised the importance of ICT and funding in a successful Hajj and Umrah, and urged NAHCON to digitalize its operations to the benefit of pilgrims and the nation.

He expressed his delight and wholehearted support for the partnership, which he said would help to strengthen the diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Accompanying the NAHCON Delegation were the Commissioner for Policy, Personnel Management and Finance (PPMF), Alh Nura Hassan Yakassai, Commissioner, Operations, Licensing, Inspectorate and Tour Operators, Alh Abdullahi Magaji Hardawa, Commissioner, Planning, Research Statistics Information and Library services (PRSILS), Sheikh Suleman Mommoh, board members, and some staff of the Commission.
