North Central APC Calls for Ganduje’s Resignation or Removed to Avoid Party Split

The All Progressives Congress, APC Forum of the North Central region has cautioned the North West APC against supporting National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, urging them to refrain from issuing a vote of confidence in his leadership.
The forum highlighted Ganduje’s troubled tenure, noting that he has faced multiple votes of no confidence from his Kano ward, alongside protests, lawsuits, and other forms of agitation.
The forum argued that Ganduje’s continued presence in office would be detrimental to the party’s progress.
After the APC North West stakeholders’ meeting last Sunday in Kaduna, Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, the forum’s chairman, told journalists in Jos, the capital of the Plateau State, that the stakeholders’ praise for the party’s leadership was somewhat insensitive given the clear crisis that the organization is currently facing.
According to Zazzaga, who served on the Presidential Campaign Council during the previous election, Ganduje already has a lot of problems going on, so it would be best for him to step down in order to avoid hurting the party or putting it in danger of legal trouble.
The Chairman clarified that since they have been collaborating successfully with the North West APC, they shouldn’t let their good working relationship end, particularly in light of Ganduje’s problem.
Furthermore, he emphasized that Ganduje’s position as the APC’s National Chairman represents the North Central region, as per party arrangements, and that Ganduje, who is from the North West, is not the person who is supposed to succeed Abdullahi Adamu, the previous National Chairman, who is also from Nasarawa/North Central.
He claims that the North Central area has been involved in a number of tactical actions to regain the seat, and they won’t give up until their goal is accomplished.
“As a result, we are warning the North West APC not to support Ganduje in any way because he is from the region. We are urging our North West peers to stand with us as we fight to recapture the seat that Ganduje is holding, despite the fact that the crisis he is facing has the potential to split the party,” he said.
“Come to think of it, the North West already has good positions, like the Deputy Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the APC National Chairmanship, which is held by Ganduje from the North West despite the party arrangement being for the North Central.
“Since the North Central region is a part of the ruling party and was crucial to President Bola Tinubu’s victory in last year’s election, as well as to the party’s other strong performances in various elective positions, it is only fair and equitable that someone from the region hold the position of National Chairmanship.

“Of the six states in the North Central area, Benue, Kogi, Niger, Nasarawa, and Kwara are the five that the APC won. This is noteworthy among the region’s outstanding performance. As a result, we are deserving of the party’s leadership role, and we will oppose any attempt to take it away from us.”
He declared, “Since our region is also a crucial stakeholder in the APC, we cannot afford to fold our hands and let the position or other benefit that is for the North Central region to be transferred to another region, hijacked, or denied us.”
Zazzaga urged President Tinubu to step in and restore the North Central region’s privileges.
In addition, he urged everyone in North Central to work with the forum to support Ganduje’s removal so that a legitimate representative from the area may take Ganduje’s place, regardless of their political, professional, ethnoreligious, or other afflictions.
He also disclosed that the North Central APC Forum has filed a lawsuit against Ganduje. The hearing of the lawsuit is scheduled for May 30, and that the forum needs the support of all the stakeholders and good people in the area in order to win. This includes prayers.
