Devastating Raid in Zurak Village as Over 40 Dead in Bandit Attack

By Roselyn James

In a harrowing incident, over forty people were killed in a violent raid by suspected bandits on Zurak village in the Bashar District of the Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State, INCNews247 can report.

The attack, which occurred on Monday night, left the community devastated as bandits set fire to numerous homes, leaving many injured and homeless.

According to eyewitness accounts, the raid began around 7 p.m. when residents were going about their daily routines. Due to poor communication networks in the area, it was difficult to alert authorities promptly. Community members reported the attack to newsmen in Jos on Tuesday.

Sahpi’i Sambo, a youth leader in the region, described the horrifying scene. “The bandits arrived on two to three motorcycles, armed with highly advanced weaponry, and began shooting intermittently at everyone,” he said. “Over 40 people were killed and numerous others were injured.”

The attack forced many villagers to flee to neighboring towns in search of safety.

INCNews247 learnt that as of Tuesday morning, no security personnel had arrived in the community, exacerbating the sense of fear and abandonment among the residents.

As of the press time, no official communication from both the Nigerian Police and Plateau State Military Task Force.

As the story develops, we will continue to provide updates on the situation and the efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
