NAF Begins Airlift of Election Materials to Edo State
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced the airlift of sensitive election materials for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to Benin, Edo State, in preparation for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for September 21, 2024.
According to Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director, Public Relations and Information, NAF, this move is part of a collaborative effort between NAF and INEC to ensure timely and secure delivery of materials necessary for a smooth election process.

“The airlift operation demonstrates our commitment to facilitating logistics and ensuring a peaceful election in Edo State,” Ali stated.
This development follows a recent meeting between Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, and INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, where Abubakar reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to providing airlift support for the swift movement of electoral materials.
