The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN has restored the Ajah-Lekki 330kV transmission line after resolving a technical fault that disrupted its operation.

TCN announced on Wednesday that the line was successfully restored to service at 3:18pm on October 21, 2026.

The company said the Ajah 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation lost supply from the Egbin-Ajah 330kV transmission lines 1 and 2 at 12:40pm on October 19 following a system disturbance.

According to TCN, the Ajah-Lekki transmission line subsequently tripped at 5:02pm due to a three-phase-to-ground fault on Zone 1 protection.

The line was patrolled and restored at 6:50pm on October 20.

However, the company said the gas-insulated switchgear circuit breaker at the Lekki Transmission Substation could not be closed because of a pole discordance problem.

TCN said its engineers had since resolved the problem and successfully closed the breaker, allowing the transmission line to resume operation.

The company apologised to customers of Eko Electricity Distribution Company affected by the outage and appreciated their patience during the period.
