The Kwara State Government has warned that it will no longer handle environmental law violations with kid gloves.
The State Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, announced that mobile courts will soon commence sitting at Ilorin Central Market (Oja Oba) to enforce compliance with environmental regulations.
The mobile courts will focus on eliminating road encroachment, indiscriminate dumping of refuse, and trading at illegal locations.

The Magistrate will determine cases, and those unable to pay fines will spend time in correctional centers with their wares confiscated.
The Commissioner emphasized that the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration has invested heavily in infrastructural rehabilitation to enhance a decent environment.
She urged residents to obtain necessary documents for their properties from the Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KW-GIS).
Buge added that the government has received flood alerts from NiMET and NEMA, warning against indiscriminate dumping of waste in waterways, drainage channels, and road medians.
The Commissioner urged residents to take necessary precautions to avert flooding and sustain rainfall as a divine blessing.
