NITDA Seeks Input on Draft Digital Infrastructure, Data Exchange Standards

The National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, has called for public review of two draft regulatory frameworks designed to strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.
The documents are the Draft Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Live Events and the Draft Technical Standard for the Nigerian Data Exchange (NGDX).
NITDA’s Director of Corporate Communications and Media Relations, Hadiza Umar, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday.

Umar said the review session will hold on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Digital Economy Complex, NCC Building, Mbora, Abuja.
According to the Agency, the exercise is part of its Rule-Making Process aimed at co-creating inclusive and trusted regulations in line with global best practices.
While the DPI framework is expected to support seamless e-Government services and encourage private sector collaboration, the NGDX standard will provide a unified and secure framework for data sharing across institutions.
The Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, said stakeholder participation would be critical to the success of the initiative.
“Our goal is to co-create a system that fosters innovation, builds trust and ensures sustainability,” he said.
The agency noted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and has backing from the European Union’s Global Gateway and other international partners.
