DHQ Speaks on Rescue Efforts for Kidnapped Victims in Kurmin Wali

By Alabidun Shuaib AbdulRahman

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) has provided an update on ongoing efforts to secure the release of kidnapped residents in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It assured displaced families and the general public that the safe rescue and reintegration of abducted persons remains a top priority.

In a statement issued by Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Media Operations at the Defence Headquarters on Friday noted that the AFN addressed concerns over the pace and scope of the military’s response.

The statement emphasized that, contrary to perceptions of diminished action, sustained, intelligence-driven operations are being conducted in coordination with other security agencies across the area and surrounding forested regions believed to shelter the perpetrators.

According to the statement, the military’s operations combine ground patrols, surveillance, intelligence gathering, and targeted interventions, all designed to locate kidnappers and secure hostages without compromising their safety.

Onoja stressed that instances of operational restraint are deliberate measures, aimed at protecting captives and preventing collateral harm.

While operational specifics remain confidential for security reasons, the senior officer added that significant efforts are underway to dismantle the criminal networks responsible for the abductions.

Families and communities affected by the crisis were assured that the military’s commitment to saving lives and restoring normalcy is unwavering.

The Defence Headquarters appealed for continued public support, patience, and cooperation, as operations intensify toward a successful resolution, reiterating the Armed Forces’ mandate to protect lives and property across the nation.
