The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN has commenced repair work on a damaged circuit breaker at the Kubwa 132/33kV Transmission Substation in Abuja as part of efforts to restore electricity supply to some communities affected by a feeder fault.
TCN, in a statement issued by its management on Tuesday and obtained by INCNews247, said its maintenance crew was working assiduously to rectify the fault on the 33kV NIPP feeder and restore bulk power supply to the affected areas.
The company explained that the feeder initially tripped at about 9:39am on Sunday, September 20, 2026, following an earth fault.

According to the transmission company, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC subsequently deployed its maintenance team to patrol the feeder, after which it was certified okay for restoration.
However, TCN said the feeder tripped again at about 6:34pm during an attempt to restore supply, with the second incident attributed to overcurrent and earth fault.
It said the development resulted in damage to the blue-phase interrupter head of the feeder circuit breaker, necessitating repair works before the feeder could be restored.
The affected areas include FO1, Dantata Estate, Byazhin, Byazhin Across and Gbazango, where AEDC has been unable to off-take bulk electricity supply to its customers.
TCN said its maintenance crew was currently working on the damaged breaker, expressing optimism that electricity supply would be restored as soon as the repair was completed.
The company also apologised to electricity consumers in the affected communities for the inconvenience caused by the outage.
“TCN regrets any inconveniences caused by the outage and assures that power supply will be restored as soon as repair work on the breaker is completed,” the statement said.
