Gov. AA, Why This Again?
Gov. AA, Why This Again?
In 2019, the whirlwind of the tsunami of Ot’oge deposited the PDP’s electoral corpses in various cemeteries across Kwara. For a number of reasons, principal of which is their unflinching belief in political spirituality to resurrect the corpses, the party leaders refused to bury them despite all entreaties from the host communities.
Mistaking the taciturnity of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, AA for lack of ideas on how to disinfect Kwara citizens from the whiffy corpses, in his usual magnanimity, the Governor, just last week, quietly buried the corpses by implementing the new minimum wage on full scale.

Joilted by this development, the shameless handlers of the previous government who couldn’t clear the backlog of unpaid ridiculous salaries of the local government workers and SUBEC teachers before 2019, have since been moving from one radio station to another in the state, describing the action of His Excellency in this regard as nothing but a political gimmick. In their infantile rantings, it is all about 2023. Balderdash!
The question is, why didn’t they employ the same political gimmick before 2019? In a salary-structured economy such as the one Nigeria is currently operating, how could you leave the civil servants unpaid for several months and expect them to reward your party with their votes? For a fact, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq is not as rapacious, insensitive and insentient as their political supremo.
By this singular, it is incontestable that the governor has warmed himself into the hearts of a vast majority of Kwarans, who are now prepared to see to the actualization of his second term ambition. Obviously, the spirited physical efforts and spiritual machinations of those who want to return us to the dark era of prebendal politics have already floundered.
Though the battle is not over yet, may Allah grant the governor more wisdom to fight the main battle, which is the seemingly intractable wrangling in the ruling party.
