APPLY: NITDA Opens Applications for Coursera Scholarship Programme: Cohort 3

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced the commencement of applications for the Coursera Scholarship Programme: Cohort 3.

This disclosure was made in a statement issued by Hadiza Umar, Head of Corporate Affairs and External Relations at NITDA, and obtained by INCNews247.

According to the statement, the application process began on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, with the training programme scheduled to commence on February 10, 2024.

NITDA, the official government body responsible for the development and regulation of Information Technology in Nigeria, has encouraged interested individuals to apply promptly to seize this valuable opportunity.

Applicants for the Coursera Scholarship Programme can submit their applications via the following link: https://links.nitda.gov.ng/coursera2401

INCNews247 reports that the agency has collaborated with Coursera to provide learning scholarships aimed at enabling Nigerian citizens to obtain professional certifications from renowned multinational tech companies such as Meta, Google, IBM, and leading US universities.

Applicants are required to choose one certification program from both Category A and Category B, tailored to their career aspirations and skill development needs.

Category A (IT Career Pathway) offers a selection of 20 professional certification programs designed to facilitate a successful career in IT. Each program comprises a series of courses focused on delivering in-depth knowledge and practical skills essential for employment.

Upon completion of each individual course within the program, participants will receive a certificate of completion. However, the professional certification will be awarded upon successful completion of all required courses within the program.

Category B (Complementary Skills Pathway) offers four certification programs aimed at enhancing IT career skills and proficiency in digital productivity tools, entrepreneurship, or freelancing.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to explore the attached program links to learn more about the professional certifications available before making their selection.

Successful applicants will receive a Coursera license via email, providing them with access to the program. Each scholar will have six (6) months to complete as many professional certifications as possible, with the opportunity to enroll in one certification at a time.

The available certifications encompass a range of core skills, including Software Development, UI/UX Design, Data Analysis & Visualization, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Animation, AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Game Development, Cloud Computing, Dev Ops, and Data Science.
