BREAKING: Emir Appoints New Chief Imam of Ilorin

The Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has appointed Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani as the new Chief Imam of IIorin Emirate.
The appointment, according to a statement issued by the Emir’s Personal Assistant, Dr Abdulraheem Muritala and obtained by INCNews247 Wednesday evening, followed a competitive selection process in which Sheikh Dasuki emerged successful among other Islamic scholars considered for the revered spiritual position.
The new Chief Imam aged 42, is a grandson of the eighth Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Ibrahim Dasuki Imam Fulani Agaka, and son of the 10th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Maliki bn Dasuki Agaka.

INCNews247 further gathered that before his appointment, Sheikh Dasuki founded and managed Darul Bisharah Arabic and Islamic Studies in Airport, Egbejila, Ilorin.
He also served as the Imam of Afsat Oloriegbe Memorial Mosque, where he led daily prayers and Jumu’ah services.
He is also known for presenting the Al-Bisharah Islamic Foundation programme on Radio Kwara during Ramadan and teaching at Darul Kitab College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Gaa Akanbi, Ilorin.
A graduate of Al-Azhar University, Sheikh Dasuki obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Islamic Shari’ah in 2014.
He also holds a Diploma in Arabic Islamic Education from Ahmadu Bello University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies at Al-Hikmah University.
