CAILS Matriculates New Students for 2024/2025 Session

The College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, CAILS, has matriculated over 300 students for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The ceremony, held at the College Lecture Hall, featured educative programs, drama, and more.
In his address, Acting Provost, Dr. Sa’ad Hadi, advised the new students to shun cultism, hooliganism, and corruption, urging them to be respectful, modest, and decent in their dressings.
“Your stay here will be fruitful and productive if you abide by the rules and regulations of the college,” he emphasized.
Dr. Hadi described the matriculation ceremony as “a transformative journey” for the incoming students. “Today marks the beginning of a journey that will not only broaden your horizons but also equip you to contribute meaningfully to the society. This day symbolizes an important milestone in your academic and personal growth, as you join an institution that has championed excellence in education since it was founded in 1992.”

He highlighted CAILS’ commitment to providing high-quality diploma programs, meeting the educational needs of the society, and contributing to economic development.
“We offer a diverse range of specialized diplomas, including programs in Sharia and Common Law, Arabic, Islamic Studies, English, Yoruba, History, Mass Communication, Computer Science, and Library Science. We also provide National Diplomas in Computer Science and Accounting, as well as Diploma in Catering, to meet the demands of both local and global communities.”
Dr. Hadi noted that CAILS would continue to focus on excellence in teaching, research, provision of middle-level manpower, and service to society.
“To further support our mission of lifelong learning and accessibility, we offer a range of education diploma courses and comprehensive Sandwich Degree Programme, providing flexible learning options for students of all ages.”
He proudly mentioned that CAILS’ alumni have distinguished themselves across various prestigious fields. “Among our graduates are Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), judges, magistrates, legal practitioners, and other committed professionals in both public and private sectors.”
Dr. Hadi also acknowledged the institution’s legacy, rooted in academic rigor and quality teaching.
“We have educators with extensive knowledge, experience, and passion, that work tirelessly to ensure that every student receives holistic and well-rounded education. The institution’s academic staff comprises 52 dedicated members, 13 of whom are PhD holders, while 33 have Master’s degrees.”
The Provost assured that CAILS is dedicated to high standards and educational excellence, with alumni’s accomplishments extending beyond Nigeria. “Some of our alumni serve as magistrates in Gambia, while others pursue advanced studies abroad.”
Dr. Hadi appealed to the government, alumni, and founding Muslim stakeholders for financial support to navigate the college’s challenges. “We solicit your support to enable us to continue providing quality education.”
He encouraged the new students to make full use of the resources, guidance, and mentorship available in the school premises.
The matriculated students were later administered an oath of allegiance by the College Registrar, Mallam Afolabi Suleiman.
