2023 Elections: Group Urges Shagaya to Contest, Assures Winning

A Kwara-based socio-political group, Good Governance Initiative has thrown her weight behind Hon. Sheriff Shagaya to declare his interest in the 2023 general elections.
The group President, Musa Alfa Nla, speaking on behalf of other members in Ilorin on Tuesday, pointed out that Kwara Central deserves a more youthful, vibrant, professional and resourceful candidate come 2023 and Sheriff is a right choice.
He remarked that their decision to support Shagaya is based on his philanthropy, professional profile and pan Kwaran records over the years, saying that his election would advance good governance and representation.
“Although he doesn’t like politics like he used to say. But he’s a kind of person we want. He has a good professional record. We want him to contest in 2023,” he said.
He further stated that, “In our pursuit as a group of patriotic Kwarans desiring for good political representation, good governance and progress of our state, we deem it necessary to support a complete Kwaran like Sheriff who is dedicating his life in the service of humanity, who respects the culture and religion of all, irrespective of age, status and background, who cares for the less privileged, who will designate concrete sources for employment of our teeming unemployed youths and women”.

He leads his humanitarian vision and passion through the creation and activities of his founded non-governmental organization, Salman Shagaya Foundation and for several years has been a leader in the non-profit and philanthropic sectors across Nigeria. Being a progressive leader in human/capacity development ventures and various charity quest providing assistance to the youth, needy and less privileged.
He has led the team in several initiatives that has resulted in development and transformation in several states of the federation of Nigeria, the most significant of which has been in Kwara State, with numerous beneficiaries.
