The meeting also highlighted the NCS’s remarkable performance in generating over ₦5 trillion by November 2024, which is a significant contribution to the government’s revenue target.
The NCS’s revenue generation efforts are expected to play a critical role in achieving the government’s ₦35 trillion revenue target for 2025.
The Service’s success is attributed to reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which have significantly improved its performance.
Minister Edun commended the NCS for its pivotal role in boosting Nigeria’s economic recovery, saying, “The NCS has excelled in suppressing smuggling and fostering trade, crucial for growth and job creation.”
The NCS’s efforts are expected to provide opportunities for young Nigerians to join the agency and contribute to its mission of promoting economic growth and development.
The government has set an ambitious ₦48 trillion expenditure target for 2025, and the NCS’s recruitment drive is expected to support this goal.
