FG Postpones Tertiary Institution Councils Inauguration

The Federal Government has announced the postponement of the inauguration and retreat for members of the governing councils of its tertiary institutions, INCNews247 can report.

The events were earlier scheduled for Thursday, 30th, and Friday, 31st May 2024 respectively.

However, Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, stated that the postponement follows a presidential directive.

According to a State House Press Release dated 23rd May 2024 and obtained by INCNews247, the presidency directed a comprehensive review of the membership of the Governing Councils of Federal Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.

The Ministry of Education, therefore, expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this decision and assured that further updates will be provided in due course.

Announcing the postponement, the Federal Ministry of Education stated: “This is in response to the Presidential mandate, given by the State House Press Release dated May 23, 2024, for a comprehensive assessment of the composition of the Governing Councils of Federal Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.

“We apologize for any issues. this may create. “Further updates will be communicated in due course.”
