The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has ordered an investigation into a recent assault on its personnel and will prosecute a motorist who repeatedly attacked FRSC staff.
INCNews247 learnt the incident occurred on November 7, 2024, along the OKO-ADO Lekki Epe expressway in Lagos State.
It was reported that a patrol team had flagged down a Toyota Corolla with registration number EPE690HH for a seatbelt violation.

Upon requesting the vehicle papers, it was discovered that they had expired since December 2022, leading to the impoundment of the vehicle.
FRSC reported that although the driver did not resist arrest, a female passenger became aggressive, verbally assaulting the arresting Marshal and threatening to prosecute them.
The situation escalated to physical assault, which was recorded on video.
The Corps Marshal commended the Unit Commander, Chief Route Commander AM Usman, and the entire staff of the Command for their professionalism and civility.
He warned the motoring public to refrain from assaulting FRSC personnel and instead follow proper administrative processes or take legal action.
“The FRSC has a zero-tolerance policy for assault on its personnel and will ensure that justice is served swiftly to deter future incidents,” he stated.
