FRSC Condemns Fatal Crashes on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has condemned the spate of bad driving behaviors on Nigerian roads, following two fatal crashes on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway that claimed 28 lives.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and urged drivers to imbibe safe road use attributes.

According to reports, the first crash occurred at Ajao, opposite Bovas fuel station on the Ojoo/Iwo road, involving four vehicles, including a White Mack Truck that suffered brake failure and crashed into three other vehicles. Sixteen people died, while 17 sustained injuries.
The second crash happened at Malo, involving a White Mazda Bus that lost control while overtaking, killing 12 people and injuring four others.
INCNews247 learnt the Corps Marshal directed the immediate arrest of the fleeing driver of the articulated vehicle for prosecution, as part of efforts to ensure that drivers involved in fatal crashes face the wrath of the law.
The FRSC is intensifying its partnership with the Judiciary to ensure that drivers involved in fatal crashes are prosecuted and have their licences withdrawn.
