Gunmen Attack Bullion Van in Ondo

Ondo State’s bullion vehicle was ambushed by gunmen suspected of being armed robbers on Wednesday evening.
The incident happened along the Owo-Akure highway at Emure-Ile junction in the state’s Owo Local Government Area.
However, after the burglars forced it open, the bullion was said to be empty.
The gunmen attacked the bullion van in motion, which was claimed to belong to a commercial bank in Owo.
The gunmen are also claimed to have shot one of the police officers accompanying the bullion vehicle.
DSP Funmilayo Odunlami, the state Police Command’s spokesperson, confirmed the event and stated that the officer was recovering in the hospital.
The incident occurred less than a month after a bullion attack was foiled by police in the state.
