Hundreds Benefit as Third Estate Group Holds Free Eye Care Outreach in Ilorin

 

 

Hundreds of residents of Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, have benefited from a free medical eye outreach organised by the Third Estate Group as part of its sustained commitment to community health and humanitarian service.

 

INCNews247 reports that, the outreach, which held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, took place at the Aisha Buhari Mother and Child Hospital, Eyenkorin, in Asa Local Government Area.

 

The programme featured free eye screening and treatment, distribution of medicated eyeglasses and free eye surgeries for patients diagnosed with various eye conditions.

Speaking on the exercise, the Public Relations Officer of the group, Nasir Abdulquadri, said the initiative was aimed at reducing preventable visual impairment and improving the quality of life of residents within the Ilorin Emirate.

 

“This outreach is part of our social responsibility to the people of Ilorin Emirate. Our focus is on restoring dignity, improving health outcomes and enhancing productivity, especially among the elderly and indigent members of the community,” Abdulquadri said.

 

He added that the programme was carried out by qualified medical professionals under strict ethical and professional standards to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

 

Abdulquadri noted that the free eye care exercise was not the first of its kind, explaining that similar programmes had earlier been conducted in Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South and Moro local government areas of the state.

 

According to him, the leadership of the Third Estate Group, under its President, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, remains committed to sustaining people-centred and community-driven initiatives that promote health, dignity and social wellbeing across the emirate.

 

Some of the beneficiaries, many of whom were elderly residents, expressed appreciation to the group, describing the intervention as timely and life-changing.
