IEDPU FCT Urges Ilorin Indigenes to Attend Sheikh Solagberu’s Inaugural Jumu’ah Service at Nat’l Mosque Abuja

The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU FCT, has called on Ilorin indigenes residing in Abuja and its environs to attend the inaugural Jumu’ah service of Dr AbdulKadir Salman Solagberu this Friday.

 

Solagberu, a renowned Arabic scholar and Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate was recently appointed Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja.

 

In a statement issued on Wednesday, IEDPU FCT Chairman, Alhaji Lukman Atanda Abdullah, made the appeal, describing the gesture as “a way of celebrating one of our own.”

“We are proud to have one of our own appointed as the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja. We urge all Ilorin indigenes to come out and celebrate this achievement with us,” Alhaji Abdullah said.

 

He added, “As Ilorin indigenes, it is our duty to come out en masse to celebrate this achievement and show our support for Sheikh Solagberu. We urge all Ilorin indigenes in Abuja and its environs to attend the inaugural Jumu’ah service and make it a memorable one.”

 

Alhaji Abdullah also congratulated Sheikh Solagberu on his appointment, saying, “We are confident that he will bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to bear in his new role and promote the Islamic faith in Nigeria.”

 

The inaugural Jumu’ah service is expected to take place at the National Mosque, Abuja, on Friday, 7th of February, 2025 at exactly 1:00 pm.
