IEDPU FCT to Hold Special Prayer for Distinguished Ilorin Indigenes

The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU FCT will on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, hold a special prayer session to honour prominent sons and daughters of the Ilorin Emirate who have recently attained notable appointments and achievements in public service.
According to an invitation issued by the union and obtained by INCNews247, the event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the IEDPU FCT Secretariat, Ansarul Islam, 367 Augustus Aikhomu Way, Utako, Abuja.
The prayer session is being organised in recognition of distinguished Ilorin indigenes serving in strategic positions across federal institutions and government agencies.

Among those to be honoured are the Federal Commissioner representing Kwara at the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Alhaji Ismaila Agaka; Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission, Dr Isiaka Alada; Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kogi State, Alhaji Shehu Abdulwahab; Court Registrar of the Supreme Court, Mr Kabir Akanbi; and the Kogi/Kwara Commissioner of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Hajiya Rukayat Aduke Odekunle.
Others include the Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission, Dr Ibrahim Abdullah; Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu; Director at the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, Mr Bolaji Elelu; Executive Director of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Ilorin, Engr Abolore Alanamu; and Commissioner of Police, FCID, CP Abdullateef Yusuf.
Also expected to be celebrated are Commissioner of Police, Force Headquarters, CP Abdulraheem Nurudeen; Commissioner of Police, Force Headquarters, CP Kayode Uthman Magaji; member of the National Council on Privatisation and Bureau of Public Enterprises, Barrister Layi Yahaya; Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Barristers Mustapha Bolakale Agbarere, Yunusa Abdulsallam and Tahir Adebayo; Justice Hassan Suleiman Hamida of the Federal High Court; and the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Prof. Abdulkadir Abikan and others.
The event is expected to attract members of the Ilorin Emirate community in the Federal Capital Territory, traditional leaders, religious scholars, public office holders and other invited guests.
The organisers said the prayer session is aimed at appreciating Allaah for the achievements of the honourees while seeking divine guidance and greater success in their various assignments, as well as promoting unity and development within the Ilorin Emirate community.
