IEYDA Hails Ilorin People Over Peaceful Conduct During Election

The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association, IEYDA, has expressed appreciation to all political parties and residents in Kwara state, particularly Ilorin Emirate, for the peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections held on Saturday.
In a statement signed by the National President of the Association, Alhaji Babatunde Salaudeen, and the Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Uthman Jagunmo, on behalf of the Ilorin Emirate Youth across the five local government areas representing Ilorin Emirate, the group noted that the peaceful exercise was a reflection of the state’s reputation as a state of harmony.

The statement called on the people to extend the same level of maturity to the forthcoming Governorship and State House of Assembly elections, urging all to ensure peace reigns.
The group also congratulated all the winners announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, particularly those from Ilorin Emirate, including the Turaki of Ilorin, Mallam Soliu Mustapha, while charging them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
IEYDA, therefore, rejoiced with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for the peaceful atmosphere during the polls, stressing that meaningful development can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
The group also commended the INEC, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agents, urging them to double their efforts in the forthcoming general elections to ensure a successful poll.
