Kenya Ambassador to Nigeria Slumps, Dies in Abuja

Kenya’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Wilfred Machage, has died.
Machage is said to have collapsed at his Abuja home on Saturday and was rushed to a hospital.
Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed Machage’s death in a statement, expressing regret at his death.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs regrets to inform the tragic death of Hon Dr. Ambassador Wilfred Machage, the Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria, who occurred today,” the statement reads in part.
“Ambassador Machage collapsed at his home and was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after at around 12.30pm, Saturday afternoon, in Abuja, Nigeria.”
His wife was said to be present with him at his residence when he collapsed.
Recall, in January, 2018, Machage was appointed high commissioner to Nigeria.
