Kwara Speaker Declares Open, 4-day Seminar for LG Councillors
The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, RT Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, has declared open a four-day training seminar for all Local Government Councillors in the state.
INCNews247 reports that the seminar, themed “Strengthening Local Governance: Enhancing the Capacity of Local Government Legislative Council for Inclusive Development,” is being held at the Silver Gate Hotel in Ilorin.
Represented by the House leader, Hon. Oba Magaji, the Speaker expressed optimism that the seminar would deepen the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the Local Government.

He noted that a similar seminar had earlier been organized for the House of Assembly Members, which improved their legislative duties and enhanced the relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of government.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, disclosed that the Local Government administration in the state had witnessed significant development in administration and service delivery.
He emphasized the need for all hands to be on deck to harness resources and sustain citizens’ confidence.
The Executive Chairman of Kaima Local Government Council and State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi, urged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity to learn and strengthen their commitment to serving their constituents with integrity.
The lead Consultant, Alhaji Abubakar Musa, explained that the workshop was divided into two batches, with eight Local Governments in the first batch attending the seminar for two days, while the remaining eight would attend the following week.
The seminar is organized by the Kwara State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development in collaboration with FERHAT CONSULT LTD.
