Nigerian Military Cripples Oil Thieves in South, Neutralizes Terrorists in North

The Nigerian military has scored a major victory against oil thieves and terrorists in recent operations.
According to a statement on Thursday by Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) foiled oil theft worth N262,702,150 in the South, while also neutralizing several terrorists in the North.
The operation, which was carried out by troops of Operation Delta Safe, resulted in the recovery of 117,395 liters of stolen crude oil, 22,050 liters of illegally refined AGO, 6,000 liters of DPK, and 8,060 liters of PMS.
The statement added that troops discovered and destroyed 102 crude oil cooking ovens, 94 dugout pits, 18 boats, four speedboats, 56 storage tanks, 164 drums, and 42 illegal refining sites.

Other items recovered include pumping machines, drilling machines, galvanized pipes, tricycles, motorcycles, mobile phones, and nine vehicles.
“We are committed to dominating and acting in defense of our nation’s sovereignty while guaranteeing the protection of all law-abiding citizens to promote the betterment of our society,” Major General Kangye said.
“Our operations across all theatres remain focused, intelligence-driven, and in line with the highest standards of professionalism and respect for human rights.”
In the North, troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralized several terrorists, including some high-profile commanders, and recovered arms and ammunition.
The operation was carried out in conjunction with other security agencies and resulted in the surrender of scores of ISWAP/JAS terrorists, comprising adult males, females, and children.
Major General Kangye praised the bravery and dedication of Nigerian troops, urging citizens to trust and support the military in its efforts to secure the country.
“We recognize the sacrifices made daily by our gallant troops, and we salute their courage and dedication,” he said.
“We appeal to the civil populace to trust us and see us as friends and partners working for the general good and well-being of the nation.”
The Nigerian military’s operations against oil thieves and terrorists are part of a broader effort to enhance security and promote economic growth in the country.
