Military Invades Ebonyi Community, Abducts Village Head, 4 Others

Members of Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo Community have been left in a state of confusion when men in military regalia invaded the village and whisked away their village head, including four others.
The strange incident was said to be on Thursday afternoon when the men armed to the teeth stormed the village aboard motorcycles.
The village head, John Ulebe Nnaji was reportedly relaxing with other members of the community at the village square before the invasion.
“The village head and four men of the community were abducted when relaxing at the village square before the gunmen stormed into the community,” an eye witness narrated.
He added that when the gunmen got into the Oshiagu Amia Ngbo, they were seen wearing military uniforms as bike took three persons.
“The villagers relaxed after seeing the gunmen dressed in military uniform thinking that they were on special duty considering the crisis in Effium Community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
“We were in the village square taking fresh air and gisting when we heard of gunshot everywhere in the village and people started running to take cover.”
He added that personal belongings of the villagers were also carted away before whisking members of the village.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Garba, while confirming the incident via text message, said his men have already swung into action on the matter.
