The Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, MOK Foundation has distributed farm inputs to Fulani farmers across major local government areas of Kwara State as part of efforts to boost agricultural productivity and strengthen food security.
The intervention, under the Foundation’s “Empowering Farmers” initiative, saw beneficiaries receive agrochemicals, fertilisers, pesticides, and knapsack sprayers ahead of the rainy season.
At the Ajase-Ipo outreach, farmers were equipped with materials aimed at improving pest control, enhancing crop yields, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

The Coordinator of Agricultural Initiatives at the MOK Foundation, Tunde Salahudeen, said the programme builds on interventions that began about three years ago.
“This is a continuation of what we started about three years ago, but this phase represents a more extensive outreach to agrarian communities across the state,” he said, attributing delays in distribution to “unpredictable weather patterns and the late onset of rain.”
The MOK Foundation disclosed that similar distributions had been carried out in several communities, including Offa, Oke-Ero, Omupo in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Babanla, Wande, Ajengbe, and Lafiagi in Edu Local Government Area, among others.
The Ajase-Ipo exercise was conducted in collaboration with Fulani community leaders and supervised by local Jowuros to ensure effective and orderly distribution.
One of the beneficiaries, Ali Saidu, commended the Foundation and its founder, Muideen Okunola Kayode, for what he described as a timely intervention.
“We appreciate the generosity and commitment of the Foundation to supporting local farmers,” he said.
Another beneficiary, Sanusi Aliu, noted that the support would improve farming practices and increase yields, adding that it would also enhance economic growth within their communities.
Fulani leaders in Kwara South, represented by Jowuro Aduagba Suleiman, also praised the initiative, highlighting the inclusion of women through the provision of start-up capital alongside farm inputs.
Similarly, the Jowuro of Omu-Aran, Muhammad Bello, assured the Foundation of continued partnership, noting that it had consistently supported Fulani communities for over a year.
The MOK Foundation stated that the initiative is designed to build resilient agricultural systems, improve livelihoods, and ensure inclusivity in access to farming support.
It added that the intervention aligns with broader efforts to enhance food security and promote sustainable agricultural development in rural communities.
Founded by Kayode, who is also the Principal Partner of Luxiar Construction Company, the Foundation said it would continue to expand its community-focused programmes across Kwara State.
