The Tinubu Media Support Group, TMSG has said the N6.61tn revenue posted by 20 companies listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited in the first quarter of 2026 is evidence that the nation’s economy is recording significant growth under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
The group stated that the performance of the firms across key sectors of the economy contradicted claims by opposition figures that the country’s economy was in a state of crisis and decline.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Emeka Nwankpa, and Secretary, Dapo Okubanjo, TMSG described the financial results as encouraging and reflective of the impact of the Federal Government’s ongoing economic reforms.

According to the group, the combined revenue of the 20 companies, estimated at N6.61tn for the three months ending March 31, 2026, represented a strong indication that businesses were thriving despite persistent criticisms of the administration’s economic policies.
The statement noted that the companies, which operate in sectors including manufacturing, petroleum marketing, power generation, telecommunications and brewing, recorded impressive earnings because of what it described as an improving macroeconomic environment.
TMSG argued that the figures raised questions about opposition narratives portraying the economy as being on the verge of collapse.
“It is a clear statement about the success of the ongoing economic reforms of the President Bola Tinubu administration. What this means is that the economy is good enough for business to thrive,” the group said.
The pro-Tinubu group added that the strong corporate earnings suggested growing consumer activity and purchasing power among Nigerians, contrary to claims that economic conditions had worsened significantly.
It further stated that the N6.61tn revenue represented an 11.7 per cent increase from the N5.9tn generated by the same companies during the corresponding period in 2025.
The group expressed optimism that improvements in key economic indicators would eventually translate into better living conditions for citizens, urging Nigerians to remain confident in the administration’s economic agenda.
TMSG also called on citizens to support the President’s vision of building a stable, resilient and prosperous economy, noting that the government remained committed to achieving its target of growing Nigeria into a $1tn economy by 2030.
