JUST IN: NASS Confirms Prof. Saleh as Substantive NAHCON Chair

The National Assembly, NASS has officially confirmed Professor Saleh Abdullahi Usman as the new Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), marking the beginning of a new era for the commission.
Professor Usman, who takes over as the 6th Chairman after Malam Jalal Ahmed Arabi, expressed his gratitude to both the Executive and Legislative branches of government for the trust placed in him.
He pledged to build upon the achievements of his predecessors, focusing on the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims and their ability to accomplish Hajj mabrur (the accepted Hajj).

With his wealth of experience in the Hajj industry, having previously served as Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Professor Usman is well-equipped to navigate the challenges of his new role.
INCNews247 reports that his confirmation comes at a critical time as NAHCON prepares for the upcoming Hajj season, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s timeline.
As NAHCON’s new helmsman, Professor Usman has assured stakeholders of his commitment to improving services to Nigerian pilgrims, working closely with all stakeholders to provide a safe and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.
His leadership is expected to accelerate preparations and enhance collaborations with stakeholders, ensuring a successful Hajj for all Nigerian intending pilgrims.
NAHCON’s mandate includes diligently implementing the NAHCON Act and providing efficient and effective services to pilgrims.
