NBA, Delta Varsity, Friends Mourn Death of Associate Professor Ayuba Giwa

Friends, colleagues, associates have started throwing heaps of praise upon the deceased Associate Professor Ayuba Giwa who lectured at Delta State University until his death.
His employer, Delta State University mourned the loss of one of its most esteemed Associate Professors and Lecturers, Dr. Ayuba Giwa, describing it as a great loss to the school and the law department.
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) also joined in expressing their grief over his demise.
The details surrounding Dr. Giwa’s death remain unclear, but social media is awash with tributes from colleagues, friends, well-wishers, and students.
Although INCNews247 learnt he passed away on Sunday while seeking medical attention in Abuja.
Giwa was a distinguished Nigerian Supreme Court attorney and solicitor. He held a doctorate in law/jurisprudence and served as the former chairman of the NBA Warri branch.
Additionally, he was the editor of the Nigerian Bar Journal before his death. Among his many contributions to legal scholarship are his books “Equity and Trust in Nigeria” and “Essentials of Lawyering Skills in Africa.”
Delta State University Vice Chancellor, Professor Andy Egwunyenga, expressed his sorrow, saying, “I mourn his passing.”
Olorogun Albert Akpomudje SAN, former NBA Chairman Warri, shared his shock, stating, “Giwa, the former NBA Chairman of Warri Bar, is one of the best gentlemen. We have truly lost a great man, one who is principled and thorough. I’m feeling pretty depressed right now.”
He added, “One of the greatest gentlemen in the Nigerian Bar Association, and particularly the Warri section. One of his virtues that I like is his candor, his willingness to speak his thoughts as he sees it, regardless of whose ox is gored. He is a detribalized Nigerian, which endeared him to members of the NBA Warri branch that saw him through becoming chairman of the branch.”

Dr. A.C.E. Abuza, an Associate Professor at Delta State University, expressed his sorrow, saying, “It is very painful to learn of the passing of our dear Chief, former Chairman, Doctor, and Associate Professor of Law. He was a competent barrister and professor. May Allah repose his educated soul in his bosom sweetly until we meet again and part no longer. Adieu, my leader, friend, colleague, and brother.”
Renowned lawyer Paul Onota Esq. also expressed his disbelief, saying, “My God! Can this be true? Dr. Ayuba Giwa died? I cannot believe it. It is very shocking! May his giving heart and gentle soul rest in peace.”
Dr. Giwa was buried according to Islamic rites in Okpella, Edo State, on Sunday.
