The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, NEPZA, has joined 20 other Federal Government agencies in committing to the adoption of the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt system as part of efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability in public financial management.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, disclosed this after a meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and chief executives of 21 affected government agencies.

The RevOP platform, approved by the Federal Executive Council, is designed to curb financial leakages, eliminate revenue-related fraud and enhance transparency in line with the fiscal reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Muhammed Sanusi, the minister said the platform was established to provide comprehensive monitoring and documentation of government revenues and expenditures.

Oyedele noted that 31 ministries, departments and agencies had already been integrated into the platform, adding that another 21 agencies were scheduled to come on board as the government intensifies efforts to achieve full financial transparency before the end of the year.

He urged the affected agencies to embrace the initiative without delay, describing it as a critical step toward strengthening due process and accountability across government institutions.

Commenting on the development, Ogunyemi said NEPZA was fully prepared to comply with the directive, noting that the authority’s existing digital financial architecture had positioned it for seamless integration into the platform.

According to him, the agency was encouraged by the Federal Government’s commitment to financial reforms and viewed the initiative as a strategic tool for advancing transparency and supporting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We are encouraged and feel responsible to follow the RevOP. It is especially motivating to observe the President taking clear leadership and responsibility for this vital financial monitoring system, which will help push the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda forward,” Ogunyemi said.

The adoption of the platform is expected to improve revenue assurance, strengthen fiscal discipline and enhance public confidence in the management of government finances.
