Nigeria Gets 40 Slots for 2024 Hajj Tour Operators Amidst Saudi Policy Shift

By Alabidun Shuaib AbdulRahman

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has secured 40 slots for the 2024 Hajj Tour Operators. This was announced by Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Fatima Sanda Usara, on Sunday.

This achievement follows a policy shift by Saudi Arabia, limiting each participating country to 5% of licensed tour operators for the 2024 Hajj, initially leaving Nigeria with only 10 slots.

Persistently engaging in dialogue, the Federal Government of Nigeria emphasized the promotion of indigenous entrepreneurs for the country’s socioeconomic development, resulting in Saudi Arabia reversing its decision and granting approval for an expanded quota of 40 tour operators.
