The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC has introduced two new digital customer support channels to improve accessibility and service delivery for Nigerians and legal residents seeking assistance on National Identification Number-related issues.
The commission disclosed this in a statement signed by its Head of Corporate Communications Unit, Kayode Adegoke, and obtained by INCNews247.
According to the statement, the new platforms include a Live Chat feature on the commission’s official website and an official WhatsApp support line aimed at providing faster and real-time responses to enquiries.

Members of the public can now access support services through the Live Chat feature on the commission’s website, NIMC Official Website, and via the official WhatsApp support line on +234 701 566 6971.
The commission said the initiative formed part of its ongoing reforms and digital transformation drive under the leadership of its Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Abisoye Coker-Odusote.
NIMC noted that the move was in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which seeks to improve public sector efficiency and expand access to government services through technology-driven solutions.
“The newly introduced platforms are designed to provide prompt responses to enquiries, real-time guidance, and improved customer interaction from anywhere and at any time, reducing the need for physical visits while enhancing user experience and operational efficiency,” the statement read.
The commission added that it remained committed to implementing strategic reforms and innovative digital solutions aimed at strengthening public trust and expanding access to identity management services across the country.
NIMC also urged Nigerians and legal residents to utilise only its verified communication channels for accurate information and assistance concerning NIN services and other identity management matters.
It further warned citizens to remain vigilant against misinformation and fraudulent activities by engaging only through its official platforms.
