The Oyo State Police Command has paraded 21 suspects on Monday in connection with the invasion of the Oyo government office on Saturday, April 13.
The individuals, purportedly claiming allegiance to the Yoruba nation, were paraded alongside confiscated items such as weapons, ammunition, plaques bearing the nation’s emblem, cutlasses, walkie-talkies, and various communication devices.
As investigations to identify their sponsors and apprehend additional suspects in the case remain ongoing, Oyo State Commissioner of Police Adebola Hamzat briefed the press, noting that the accused will face charges of terrorism and treasonable offences.
INCNews247 recalls that the incident happened when a group of armed invaders attempted to gain entry to the Governor’s office and the State House of Assembly complex by besieging the Oyo State Government Secretariat on Saturday.

It was gathered that the secretariat was unoccupied and on recess at the time, raising questions about the motives behind the attack.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the invaders were thwarted through the collaborative efforts of police officers stationed at the Governor’s Office, members of the South-West Security Network (Amotekun), and additional security personnel.
Reports indicate that the trespassers arrived at the secretariat premises and displayed a banner seemingly affiliated with certain separatist groups.
