Police Parade Couple, 4 Others Over Murder of Kwara College Student

The Kwara State Police Command has paraded six suspects, including a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Adebayo Adeniyi, over the gruesome murder of Awesu Mojisola, a female student of the College of Health and Technology in Offa.

 

The suspects, who were paraded at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin on Friday, included Adebayo Joshua Happiness, the primary suspect, Adebayo Adeniyi, Adeniyi Bukola, Adeoye Adeola, Lawal Aminat, and Bulus Peter.

 

According to the Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, Adebayo Joshua Happiness had invited the deceased, Awesu Mojisola, to a purported sign-out party at Whitefield Hotel, Ilorin, with a promise of N15,000.

However, upon arrival, Mojisola discovered there was no party and was brutally murdered by Adebayo Joshua Happiness, who abandoned her lifeless body in the hotel room and fled with her iPhone and N15,600.

 

The police commissioner disclosed that the couple was apprehended after attempting to tamper with evidence by retrieving their son’s belongings from his school.

 

Items recovered from the suspects include an iPhone 11 Pro.

 

The suspects are facing charges of criminal conspiracy and causing the disappearance of evidence.

 

The police commissioner assured that the investigation remains ongoing and that all suspects are in custody, adding that upon completion of the investigation, the suspects will be duly charged to court to face the full extent of the law.
