Reps to Hold Another Emergency Session Monday Over Critical Issues
Barely five days after it adjourned to May 24, 2022 following an emergency sitting to grant four Executive Bills express passage, the House of Representatives is again set to hold another emergency plenary session on Monday, May 9, 2022.
This is contained in a circular released by the Clerk to the House, Yahaya Danzaria, calling on all members of the House, legislative staff, the Media, as well as the general public to participate in the emergency plenary with a view to discussing “critical issues of national importance.”
Recall that the House on Wednesday last week adjourned plenary to May 24, to enable lawmakers participate in party primaries in their various political parties scheduled to hold later in the month.
Beyond the “critical” nature of the issues involved, the circular however did not disclose specific details as to what could have necessitated the emergency sitting.
