Lagos CP Reads Riot Act to MC Oluomo, Istijabah, Others
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, on Monday, issued a riot act to members of the outlawed National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) on the need to eschew violence and embrace peace.
This followed clashes involving factional members of the union and tricycle operators in the state.
The clash reached its peak after loyalists to Musiliu Akinsanya alias MC Oluomo and those of Azeez Abiola aka Istijabah clashed.
During the frequent attacks, properties worth millions were destroyed while a yet to be ascertained number of persons lost their lives.
A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said during the meeting, the CP warned that anyone person found fomenting trouble anywhere within Lagos State would be promptly apprehended and made to face the law.
Hundeyin said the warning became imperative following incessant clashes, fracas, and malicious damage to the property recently experienced in some parts of Lagos State mostly linked to the issues surrounding the management of motor parks within the state.
